Fun Day With Friends 2016

This year’s edition of fun day with friends was amazing. It began with our children visiting 2 Orphanages; Lifetime Caring Foundation, and Saviour’s Orphanage Home on Saturday May 21.

Asides the food and gift items donated to the homes on that day, the children also mingled, sang with them, and invited them for a fun day out on children’s day. All the children were visibly excited.

On children’s day, over 60 children, including children from Lifetime Caring, and Saviour’s Orphanage, took a trip to Port Harcourt Mall, where they were thoroughly entertained.

They saw the movie ‘Jungle Book’ at the Filmhosuse Cinema. The movie engaged the children’s senses as it vividly displayed their imaginations on how animals socialised and interacted in the jungle. They were able to identify various animals and their capabilities. It also taught them to be confident in themselves and stand for what they believed in. After the movie, they engaged in other fun activities. There were lots to eat and drink and gift bags for everyone, including interesting literature. They were having so much fun they almost didn’t want to leave!

This year’s Fun Day achieved our aim for the social interaction of children from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and also giving the orphans especially, a remarkable experience as most of the children had never been to a cinema. Judging from the feedback the children gave us after the event, it was apparent that this is one memory they will cherish for a very long time, and we believe it will have a positive impact in their future.
